Today was the big day. We went to the outpatient office at 6:30 this morning. I was prepped and ready for surgery by 8:30 I think. I was a little nervous. But it went very smoothly. I went back in to the freezing cold room. Was given an oxygen mask and the medicines and off to sleep I went. It felt very peaceful drifting off. When I woke up however that a different story. It was super bright, and very confusing. You literally forget where you are, and why your there. Then the pain comes.... and it all hits you.
I have a total of 5 incisions. Two on my tummy right above my belly button and three on the side. The two on my belly hurt the worst. My back already feels so much better. It was hurting pretty bad this morning. I have oxycodine thank goodness.
Eating wise, everything is pretty good so far. I've eaten little, but I'm handling it well. I'm not that hungry any more. I'm excited for Thanksgiving. I'm curious to see what I eat and what all agrees with me. I've been warned of a few foods to stay away from for awhile until I'm healed.
Pain wise I'm doing ok. It's getting harder to get up off the couch. The hospital medications have worn off and I'm really getting a feel for the pain but I took a pain killer so it's not that bad.
Well I think that's about it for the first day. Not a whole lot to really update on at this point in time. I look forward to updating though and tracking my new journey with food.
